Communicate with Digital Photography
Digital Photography
The advent of digital photography has opened up a whole new realm of opportunity for you to experience photography whether just your family memories or if you are a more serious photographer. From the basic point and shoot cameras to the more complex DSLR cameras you can take professional quality photos just by learning some basic principles and knowing how to use your camera.
A digital camera, combined with a computer allows you to communicate with family friends and the world in another dimension, like the old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Pictures give your friends and families lasting memories of what you are sharing with them. By adding pictures to your emails or your facebook posts you are including the recipients in the actual experience you are sharing. By sharing the photos of the places you have visited your friends can become part of the experience seeing the expressions on people’s faces and seeing what you are actually raving about rather than trying to express it in words. They can picture the situation and feel as though they are really there with you. A much better way of communicating.
With most mobile phones now having high spec cameras they are such a great tool as you always have them with you and you can take photos any moment when a perfect shot arises. No more wishing if only I had my camera with me., Many photo opportunities are one offs and you never see them again. It is the impromptu photos that can really capture the moment you are experiencing. Taking photos makes you aware of your surroundings seeing things that others probably don’t even notice. It can be a great stress reliever and form of relaxation just stopping to “smell the roses” (taking a photo). Taking a photo puts you in a “now” moment you aren’t worrying about what has happened in the past or what may happen in the future which are things you can’t do anything about anyway.
So next time when sending an email include a photo of something that has given you pleasure whether having fun with your friends family or a beautiful sunset, just something that expresses a moment in your life that can be shared with someone else you care about and let them have the moment of pleasure also.
By learning how to use your camera and its settings and the basic rules of composing a great shot you can really enhance the pleasure others can get from your photos. Digital cameras allow you to take heaps of shots and if they don’t turn out great it doesn’t matter you can just delete them but you might also just get a perfect shot. There is a difference between taking a snap shot and a perfect shot. Sometimes a quick snap shot is all that is needed to remind you of something or share a situation when you aren’t worrying about it being perfect. At times a quick shot is all you have time for before an opportunity is gone and you could get a great photo out of it.
So get out there and take heaps of your “life moment”: photo’s and share them with all those you care about.
